Documents To Provide the Lender

In most cases, documentation requirements for Asset Finance are very minimal. If Directors are Home Owners, the business has been trading for more than 2 years, and you’re buying an asset less than 4 years old, chances are we’ll only require your ID. For new businesses, older assets, or complex transactions, the following documents may be required for a full assessment;

  • Identification: A Drivers license and Medicare card for Directors and Beneficial owners of more than 25%

  • Financial Statements and Tax returns: These will help us to complete a serviceability assessment to make sure we send your application to the right bank

  • Commitment Schedule: Most banks will want a list of all other monthly loan commitments your business currently holds

  • Verification of property ownership: Many banks will offer cheaper rates and faster approvals where Directors are also property owners. A rates notice or title search will generally cover this.

  • Purchase order: If you’ve signed a Purchase order to buy a car, truck, or other asset from a dealership, a Purchase Order will give us accurate details on the Make/Model as well as compliance dates and accessories to make sure your loan documentation aligns with asset.

    Depending on your situation and the asset you intend to buy, you may not be required to provide much of this at all. We’ll be able to tell you exactly what you’ll need to provide during our Initial Consultation

OMG!! These guys are next level good. They have just settled our new home loan and we had another guy that took 4 weeks and did nothing. We then called these guys after a friend said they were amazing. They got us a home loan approved from start to finish in 35 days and I have just been released from a personal bankruptcy a few months back. We were unconditional on our purchase contract by the time we met these guys so they had to do everything perfectly and super quick. FAQs About Business Financing Assets

Are low doc Asset Finance Loans more expensive?

Not nescessaritly. Given the minimal documentation and time required for banks to assess and approve low doc asset finance loans, thse are often cheaper than fully assessed asset finance loans.

How do I qualify for a Low Doc Asset Loan?

Typically you’ll need to have been trading for more than 2 years and registered for GST. Directors will need to be property owners, and the Asset you’re purchasing will need to be considered ‘Non Specialised’ and less than 4 years old.

How long does a Low Doc asset loan take to be approved?

In most cases a low doc asset loan is approved within 2-3 hours. This will depend on the bank/lender and their curent turnaround times.

Can I get an Asset Loan for a vehicle more than 10 years old?

Yes, while older assets and vehicles pose a higher risk to banks, the condition of the asset and the financial strength of the borrower are also taken into account. In most cases, if the purchase makes sense and the business can afford the repayments, the loan will be approved. Banks may insist on shorter loan terms to ensure the debt is reduced according to the expected life of the asset.

Can I buy a boat under asset finance?

Boats are considered as acceptable assets for Asset Loans with most Banks/Lenders, providing the business can justify that the asset will be used primarily for business purposes and not for recreational or personal use.

Can I pay an Asset Loan out early?

Yes. However, Asset Loans usually come with an early termination fee, calculated using ‘The Rule of 78’. ‘The Rule of 78’ accounts for any interest charges the borrower may have yet to pay during the balance of their loan term. Most banks will apply a discount to the result of their ‘Rule of 78’ calculation and this discount will vary from bank to bank. If there’s a high chance you might pay the loan out early, consider the pros and cons of a shorter term with a larger balloon. This is likely to result in similar repayments and reuce the early termination charges if you do end up paying the loan out early.

What is a Balloon Payment?

A ‘Balloon Payment’ or ‘Residual Value’ is a lump sum payment required at the end of the loan term. Balloon Payments reduce the ongoing monthly committment to improve cash flow in your business. At the end of the loan term you may decide to roll your ‘Balloon Payment” over to a new loan, subject to approval. Alternatively you could pay out the balance with funds from your business, trade the asset to clear the balloon, or any combination of both. Be careful that your balloon payment is not structured to be higher than the expected value of your asset at the end of the term to avoid ending up in a ‘Negative Equity’ position.
